In preparation for our April 15th Dads & Donuts event - our staff tried out the paper airplane contest idea as our team builder at this week's staff meeting.  Needless to say it was a soaring success!

Family Math Night

Thank you to the many kids and families that came out to Family Math Night!  Thank you to Mrs. Griffin, Mrs. Andrew, Ms. Tziolas, Mrs. Bart, and Mrs. Rice for helping to plan and implement a very fun event.

The Jungle Book mini-musical

Congratulations to the cast and crew of The Jungle Book on two phenomenal performances this week.  Thank you to Ms. Wade-Kuzwayo and Ms. Pasia for their mentorship in supporting and sponsoring the show.  It is wonderful to see this East Prairie tradition continue to thrive!

That's a wrap on quarter 3!

A core belief of our community is that we are at our very best when we are together.  Friday afternoon’s pep rally and intergrade level pair-up activities lived that belief in a magical way! 

Thank you to our cheerleading squad, 3rd grade choir, and 5th grade band for all showcasing their talents for our entire school.  We also had a dance party, half court shot challenge, and coin collection contest to tally the 800 shillings left by our local leprechaun.

Thank you to our teachers for working together to plan many engaging and meaningful activities for our students of different ages to come together, bond, and simply have fun!

Parent Mentor Program

 We are proud to have successfully completed our fourth year of sponsoring the Parent Mentor Program at East Prairie.  The Parent Mentor Program is a nationally recognized parent engagement model that builds deep and lasting relationships between students, teachers, and families.  This program has been a phenomenal way to involve parents within our classroom and further connect with our community.  In only four years our community has built this program to be the largest in the township, involving over 30% of the mentors.

Thank you to Virdiana Rosas, Kathy Fujinaka, Mayra Rangel, Hien Moreno Dang, Sabina Walasek-Widlak, Marisa Garzon, Ivana Williams, Sara Naz, Zainab Khaleel, Suhaila Imsheeh, and Thi Thu Huyen Nguyen for serving as our students, staff, and families.  Thank you to Mrs. Maloof, Mrs. Rice, Mrs. Warner, Mrs. Berkowitz, Ms. Wade-Kuzwayo, Ms. Kath, Ms. Sharkey, Ms. Hernandez, and Mrs. Mansour and for their support and participation as well.  A special thank you to Ms. Wydmanski for coordinating and leading this program with compassion and grace.  We take tremendous pride in the accomplishments and care of this entire team!

A world of opportunity

Thank you to the Niles North World Language Team, Mrs. Adducci, and students for coming over to East Prairie to inform our 8th graders on the world of opportunity that awaits them.  It was wonderful for our students to hear about the many offerings and experiences from their soon-to-be peers.  Selfishly, it was also really nice to reconnect with former students from both East Prairie and Devonshire :)
