Book Fair & Family Reading Night

The Book Fair is upon us!  Thank you to the PTA and many parent volunteers for helping to bring this opportunity to our kids, family, and school.  Check out all of the amazing titles in the boardroom beginning today through this Friday.  Proceeds from the Book Fair go towards supporting the PTA and filling the shelves of our library with high-quality titles for kids.  Please see the attached flyer for more information.

To help foster a love of reading and support the Book Fair, we will be hosting a Community & Family Reading Night this Thursday from 6:30-7:30PM.  This event is open to all families at all grade levels and will feature socially distanced read alouds of outstanding children’s books by some very famous guest readers.  The Book Fair will be open to families from 6:00-8:00PM this evening as well.

On the Prairie

Here is the link to this school year’s first edition of our On The Prairie publication.  We are proud of our students, and excited to share their voices and ideas.

We hope you find OTP to be a fitting compliment to our regular communications in highlighting the special accomplishments and activities happening in our classrooms and throughout the school.  This communication is one more way we seek to open the doors of our classrooms and make learning visible to all.

Conference Follow-up & Thank You!

Thank you for making the time last week to meet with us and discuss your child’s learning and wellbeing throughout the beginning of this year.  We value your insight, perspective, and partnership as we work together to ensure we fully meet the unique needs of each child - academically, emotionally, and socially.

Having changed the format of conferences for this year we would like to gather your feedback - here is a link to a Google Form to share your insight.  Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us; we will use this information to inform our decision-making for Spring conferences and beyond.

Thank you for the MANY delicious appetizers, entrees, and desserts you cooked up for our team!  Monday night’s dinner was true culinary excellence and a delight for the senses.  Thank you for your immense kindness and generosity!  It is so appreciated by all of us!

Thank You & Happy Thanksgiving!

Thank you for the trust and confidence that you place in us each day.  This year has found additional burden and responsibility placed on all of us.  We are truly grateful for all of your efforts to support your child’s learning, as well as, the collective action that has enabled us to remain a tight knit community.

East Prairie is truly special and unique because of this care and connection.  We are filled with gratitude for the opportunity to continue to do the work we love and for those whom we share it with.  On behalf of our staff, we wish you and your family a very restful, safe, and happy Thanksgiving!
